Short history of SANNA

1991 – Foundation of the company. The first truck loaded with cargo, an old war-time ZIL, was sent from Moscow to Podolsk. At the time, the company handled 20-30 orders a month, which it now does in three hours.

1993 – Cargo hauling along the route St Petersburg, Moscow, Krasnodar became regular. The company had a fleet of eight 20-ton heavy-duty motor vans and refrigerator trucks and set up an office near Taganka square in Moscow.

1995 – SANNA entered the Association of International Road Carriers (AIRC), furnished customs services and was one of the first to receive the license of an all-Russia customs carrier. It helped SANNA begin active international cargo carriage and provide a full range of door-to-door services, i.e. deliver cargoes by its own fleet of vehicles from factories in Europe to warehouses and shops across Russia.

1996 – Using its own transport facilities, the company ensured the haulage of 49 European-type motor vans from Eastern Europe to Russia to provide transport support to Michael Jackson’s tour, Tina Turner’s tour and a canvassing trip around Russia’s cities in the framework of Boris Yeltsin’s election campaign “Vote or You Will Lose”.

1997 – SANNA became widely known as Russia’s national customs carrier. The volume of haulage by its own and hired transport facilities reached about 450 trucks a day. The company owned 34 trailer trucks including six new DAF 95XFs proclaimed “Trucks of the Year”. SANNA regularly participated in national and international transport exhibitions and conferences.

2000 – To raise the efficiency of comprehensive customer service, SANNA set up a holding company with subsidiaries specialising in one field of activity – transport, forwarding (including by sea and railway), customs and warehousing. As the best logistic company in Russia, it was awarded a diploma of the Russian Ministry of Transport at the national forum “Transport and Logistics in the 21st Century”, held in the Kremlin.

2002 – The company’s branches in Krasnodar and Rostov-on-Don began their operations. As the most reliable transport operator, SANNA was awarded a commemorative diploma at a ceremony of awarding the winners of the Russia-2002 Logistic Operator rating at the exhibition “Warehousing, Transport and Logistics – 2002”.

The company represented Russia at international meetings devoted to transport corridor IX, participating in them as part of the Transport Ministry delegation.

2003 – The Krasnodar Transport Logistics Centre was opened with the participation of the Krasnodar Territory administration and the Transport Ministry. SANNA comes in first in its category among the companies having the Russia-2003 Logistic Operator rating.

2004 – The company opened safe custody terminal warehouses. Its St Petersburg branch began operating while the Krasnodar Transport Logistics Centre opened offices in southern Russian ports and cities Temryuk, Timashevsk and Eisk. A holder of the Russia-2004 Logistic Operator rating, the company wins the Best Carrying and Forwarding Company Diploma.

2005 – SANNA has become one of the most financially stable and dynamically developing transport and forwarding operators in Russia. It has opened a branch of the Krasnodar Transport Logistics Centre in Novorossiisk and other branches are set to be opened in Sochi, Tuapse, Krpotkin and Armavir. The company actively participates in round tables at the level of the Russian Federation government, devoted to the improvement of the road haulage market in the south of Russia.

2006 -  An internal reorganization was held in Company and a new development strategy 2006-2010 was accepted, where one of the main directions was merging and formating of the partnership with warehose operators and carriers in Moscow and other region of Russia for the purpose of clients' major logistic objects realization. Company CEO was invited in Russian freight market development and improvement working group under Ministry of Transport. This year Company has paid a great attention to increasing of services quality and liability, safety delivery and advanced traning of managers in the field of administration. The total fleet on internal and international routes is more than 4500 vehicles.
